It may have been that Larsen met David and Elizabeth Bradley while she hung out in the Eisenhower campaign headquarters in Manchester. When the humdrum business of the office no longer held any interest she took up with the Bradleys. David Bradley was already well known as the young author of a cautionary account of the nuclear fallout from the tests in the Bikini Atoll.[15] But Larsen’s interest in the work of the volunteers that went door to door to canvas local neighborhoods meant Elizabeth Bradley emerges as the focus of the series. She had photographed the Bradleys at the Manchester office, at home in their kitchen, and together visiting with a potential supporter. But Larsen came back for additional photographs. And in this series it is Elizabeth Bradley alone going from house to house. The voters she finds at home during the day are other women, who will often invite her inside. And Larsen follows right behind.
